The reason why I wish to play Martha before the reversal of the time Paradox is because it's when Martha's self reliance and faith is at their strongest but she is not yet rewarded for it. She's a hero to the world and everyone has heard of her, but she has not yet reaped the benefits of it (aka: seeing the Doctor, Jack, and her family again and knowing that the world is safe.). She also hasn't had a chance to resettle so she's still in the mode of someone trying her hardest to fix what's gone wrong, and is still at her most focused.
She's still a bit more hardened and militaristic than we ever see her before or since, and I mostly want to try her out in this difficult time for her, especially in a new and difficult situation that would try everything she has and has learned.
